The Sucess of my Solution!

I would say my solution was pretty successful. It does its job; helping students know the right things to do in emergency situations. My peers, teachers and community partners also agree that it's pretty successful. I’m very proud and happy that I ended up with the Safety Leader Program out of all of the other designs I had. I would say the entire process was very detailed and structured, which is something that is very good for me to work with. There were some moments of doubt that my product wouldn't be that great but I am glad with what I ended with.

Next Steps For Improvement

If there was anything I could improve for my product would be to add more emergency situations and safety tips like earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. I would also suggest that the gamified part of my solution could use some more work and structure. I would make the process more detailed and include different levels of emergency for the trainees to work with. I would also extend it more by including for different schools such as middle school, elementary school, and maybe even college.

Context & Skills

To successfully solve my problem, I had research and deep dive on the internet about emergency situations and the correct safety protocols for each emergency situation. It also involved a lot of communication skills, talking to a bunch of community partners and interviewing various students that attend STEM High for input and information about school safety. I also needed to learn a variety of different information in order to solve my problem. I had to learn how to use sites like canva to create my logo and covers for my lessons. I also had to learn how to use symbaloo to put all of my info in one place. I also had to learn safety information about tornadoes, fires, school shootings, etc. I also learned to not procrastinate and to not finish my work the day before it's due.
